The ALICE collaboration reports measurement of the inclusive production cross section of electrons from semi-leptonic decays of beauty hadrons at central rapidity in the transverse momentum $p_{\\rm T}$ interval 1-10 GeV/$c$, in pp collisions at $\\sqrt{s}$ = 2.76 TeV. Electrons not originating from semi-electronic decay of beauty hadrons are suppressed using the impact parameter of the corresponding tracks. The production cross section of beauty decay electrons is compared to the result obtained with an alternative method which uses the distribution of the azimuthal angle between heavy-flavour decay electrons and charged hadrons. The integrated visible cross section was extrapolated to full phase space using Fixed Order plus Next-to-Leading Log (FONLL) predictions to obtain the total beauty production cross section.","hasPart":[{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.858.v2/t1","@type":"Dataset","description":"Azimuthal correlation distribution between heavy-flavour decay electrons and charged hadrons, scaled by the number of electrons in minimum bias triggered...","name":"Table 1"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.858.v2/t2","@type":"Dataset","description":"Azimuthal correlation distribution between heavy-flavour decay electrons and charged hadrons, scaled by the number of electrons in EMCal triggered events...","name":"Table 2"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.858.v2/t3","@type":"Dataset","description":"Relative beauty contribution to the heavy-flavour electron yield obtained with the method based on the track impact parameter.","name":"Table 3"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.858.v2/t4","@type":"Dataset","description":"Relative beauty contribution to the heavy-flavour electron yield obtained from the method based on the azimuthal correlation of heavy-flavour decay...","name":"Table 4"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.858.v2/t5","@type":"Dataset","description":"The pT-differential inclusive cross section of electrons from beauty hadron decays using the electron-hadron azimuthal correlation method.","name":"Table 5"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.858.v2/t6","@type":"Dataset","description":"The pT-differential inclusive cross section of electrons from beauty hadron decays.
