A search has been performed, using the full data sample of 20.3 fb-1 of 8 TeV proton-proton collisions collected in 2012 with the ATLAS detector at the LHC, for photons originating from a displaced vertex due to the decay of a neutral long-lived particle into a photon and an invisible particle.  The analysis investigates the diphoton plus missing transverse momentum final state, and is therefore most sensitive to pair-production of long-lived particles.  The analysis technique exploits the capabilities of the ATLAS electromagnetic calorimeter to make precise measurements of the flight direction, as well as the time of flight, of photons.  No excess is observed over the Standard Model predictions for background.  Exclusion limits are set within the context of Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking models, with the lightest neutralino being the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle and decaying into a photon and gravitino with a lifetime in the range from 250 ps up to about 100 ns.","hasPart":[{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t1","@type":"Dataset","description":"Observed CLs contour in the GMSB (LAMBDA, TAU(NEUTRALINO) ) signal space.","name":"Table 1"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t2","@type":"Dataset","description":"Observed CLs contour with minus 1-sigma in the GMSB (LAMBDA, TAU(NEUTRALINO) ) signal space.","name":"Table 2"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t3","@type":"Dataset","description":"Observed CLs contour with plus 1-sigma in the GMSB (LAMBDA, TAU(NEUTRALINO) ) signal space.","name":"Table 3"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t4","@type":"Dataset","description":"Expected CLs contour in the GMSB (LAMBDA, TAU(NEUTRALINO) ) signal space.","name":"Table 4"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t5","@type":"Dataset","description":"Expected CLs contour with minus 1-sigma in the GMSB (LAMBDA, TAU(NEUTRALINO) ) signal space.","name":"Table 5"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t6","@type":"Dataset","description":"Expected CLs contour with plus 1-sigma in the GMSB (LAMBDA, TAU(NEUTRALINO) ) signal space.","name":"Table 6"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t7","@type":"Dataset","description":"The total expected and observed limits on SPS8 cross-section [fb] for each signal point.","name":"Table 7"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t8","@type":"Dataset","description":"The total expected and observed limits on number of accepted signal events for each signal point.","name":"Table 8"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t9","@type":"Dataset","description":"The total normalization systematic for each signal point.","name":"Table 9"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t10","@type":"Dataset","description":"Cutflow showing the number of events passing various cuts for the $\\Lambda =$ 300 TeV, $\\tau =$ 2 ns GMSB...","name":"Table 10"},{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.65441.v1/t11","@type":"Dataset","description":"The number of events in the signal region sub-divided into the different bins used in the limit setting procedure for...","name":"Table 11"}],"identifier":[{"@type":"PropertyValue","propertyID":"HEPDataRecord","value":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/ins1318336?version=1"},{"@type":"PropertyValue","propertyID":"HEPDataRecordAlt","value":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/65441"}],"inLanguage":"en","name":"Search for non-pointing and delayed photons in the diphoton and missing transverse momentum final state in 8 TeV $pp$ collisions at the LHC using the ATLAS detector","provider":{"@type":"Organization","name":"HEPData"},"publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"HEPData"},"url":"https://www.hepdata.net/record/ins1318336?version=1","version":1}
