Search for light bosons in decays of the 125 GeV Higgs boson in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV

Abstract (data abstract)
CERN-LHC. Search for light bosons in decays of the 125 GeV Higgs boson in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV with 19.7 fb^-1 of data collected in 2012. The final states used are 4 taus, 2 muons and 2 taus, and 2 muons and 2 b quarks. The uncertainty on the global normalisation ("Lumi") remains at 2.6%. The 4tau channel fiducial region is defined as: - 1st tau_mu, pT > 25 GeV, |eta| < 2.1 - 2nd tau_mu, pT > 5 GeV, |eta| < 2.1 - Tau_had, pT > 20 GeV, |eta| < 2.3 - DeltaR(1st tau_mu, 2nd tau_mu) > 0.4 - DeltaR(1st tau_mu, tau_had) > 0.5 - If >1 pair of 2nd tau_mu and tau_had exists, the pair with higher tau_mu+tau_had visible mass is chosen - Visible mass (2nd tau_mu, tau_had) > 4 GeV The 2mu2tau channel fiducial region is defined as: - Any di-tau pair decay accepted except tau_mu+tau_mu - ptMu1 > 18 GeV, pTMu2 > 9 GeV - |etaMu| < 2.4 - pTTauE > 7 GeV, pTTauMu > 5 GeV, pTTauHad > 15 GeV - |etaTauE| < 2.5, |etaTauMu| < 2.4, |etaTauHad| < 2.3 - |Visible mass (mum, mu, tau, tau) - 125 GeV| < 25 GeV - DeltaR between all pairs of leptons > 0.4 - No events with a b jet - No events with >4 leptons passing ID criteria - (|m_mumu - m_tautau|/m_mumu) < 0.8 (m_tautau is reconstructed with a maximum likelihood algorithm to correct for the neutrino momentum) The 2mu2b channel fiducial region is defined as: - ptMu1 > 24 GeV, pTMu2 > 9 GeV - At least 2 b jets with pT > 15 GeV and |eta| < 2.4 - MET significance < 6 - |m_mumubb - 125 GeV| < 25 GeV
