The data analyzed were recorded with the CMS detector at theLHC and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb$^{-1}$.The search is performed in the lepton+jets final state, where the lepton is either an electron or a muon. The top quark is reconstructed as a single jet and the W boson from its decay into a charged leptonand a neutrino. A top quark tagging technique based on a jet clusteringwith variable distance parameter and inherent jet grooming is used to identify jets from the collimated top quark decay. The results are interpreted in the context of a benchmark model where an excited bottom quark b* is the heavy resonance.A statistical combination with a search in the all-hadronic final state is performed in order to derive limits on this model. The range of probed b* masses was extended from 1.4 TeV down to 0.7 TeV.At a 95% confidence level, b*masses up to 3.0, 3.0, and 3.2 TeV are excluded for left-handed, right-handed, and vector-like couplings,respectively.","hasPart":[{"@id":"https://doi.org/10.17182/hepdata.114361.v1/t1","@type":"Dataset","description":"Distributions of MtW in the 1b category.
