In an exposure of the Brookhaven National Laboratory 20-in. hydrogen bubble chamber to a separated π+ beam at π+ momenta of 2.35 BeV/c (center-of-mass energy E*=2.30 BeV), 2.62 BeV/c (E*=2.41 BeV), and 2.90 BeV/c (E*=2.52 BeV), we have observed production of the ω0, ρ0, and η0 mesons. The production of the ω0, ρ0, and η0 is often accompanied by simultaneous production of the N*++. The momentum transfer in ω0 and ρ0 production is characteristic of peripheral collisions and suggests a single-particle exchange for the production mechanism. The decay distributions for the ω0, ρ0, and the ρ+ demonstrate the importance of modifying the single-particle-exchange model to include absorptive effects. An upper limit on the two-π decay of the ω0 is set at 2%. The width of the η0 is found to be less than 10 MeV. Elastic-scattering distributions are presented.

New data for the reaction π+p→η0Δ++ are presented at 11 momenta between 1.28 and 2.67 GeV/c. Existing data at higher momenta are included in an analysis of the reaction in terms of A2 exchange. An effective trajectory parametrization of the data above 2 GeV/c is shown to describe adequately those data, although it yields an effective trajectory steeper than expected from ρ−A2 exchange degeneracy. An existing Regge-pole model is refitted to the data above 2 GeV/c with generally satisfactory results. Both the effective trajectory parametrization and the Regge model are extrapolated to the lower-momenta data and shown to give remarkably good agreement with the data. Evidence is presented against a dominant contribution to the lower-momenta data from s-channel resonances.

The study of 620 hadron pairs produced in the s -range (1.44−9.0) GeV 2 , has yielded 110 collinear hadronic events. Their identification in terms of π and K mesons allows the determination of the time-like electromagnetic from factors of these pseudoscalar mesons in the above time-like range. The total number of (e + e − ) events observed in the same experimental conditions is 18 048.

We have measured the reaction cross section for p¯p→n¯n in small momentum steps between 0.97 and 3.13 Gev/c to a high level of statistical accuracy. Structures are observed in the vicinity of Plab=1.25 GeVc and 1.8 GeVc which are consistent with the structure observed in the p¯p total cross section.

We have observed 1085 events of the type e + e − → hadrons, in the total centre-of-mass energy range √ s = 1.2 to 3.0 GeV. The energy dependence of the total annihilation cross-section, parametrized in the form σ ( e + e − → hadrons ) = A · s n , is measured to be n = -(1.54 −0.29 +0.17 ) in the above energy range.

We have measured the crosss section for the reaction e + e − → 4 π ± in the energy range 1 2–3.0 GeV.No statistically significant evidence for a new vector meson in the ϱ″ region is found.

The total cross section for hadron production by e+e− annihilation has been measured at center-of-mass energies between 2.4 and 5.0 GeV. Aside from the very narrow resonances ψ(3105) and ψ(3695), the cross section varies between 32 and 17 nb over this region with structure in the vicinity of 4.1 GeV.

The analysis of 1466 events of the type e + e − → μ ± μ ± , in the time-lifke range from 1.44 to 9.00 GeV 2 , sh that the absolute value of the cross-section and its energy dependence follow QED expectations within (± 3.2%) and (± 1.2%), respectively.
The cross section of the reaction $e^+ e^- \to \mu^\pm \mu^\mp$ integrated over the experimental apparatus at 14 values of the colliding beam energy $E$ corresponding to total centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=2E$ from 1.2 to 3.0 GeV.
We have studied photoproduction using a 1 m streamer chamber at DESY and a tagged photon beam with an energy range of 1.6 GeV < E γ < 6.3 GeV. We analysed approximately 30 000 events and report topological, channel and resonance production cross sections for a large number of reactions with three and five outgoing charged particles.
