The process $e^+e^- \to \gamma\chi_{cJ}$ ($J$=1, 2) is studied via initial state radiation using 980 fb$^{-1}$ of data at and around the $\Upsilon(nS)$ ($n$=1, 2, 3, 4, 5) resonances collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. No significant signal is observed except from $\psi(2S)$ decays. Upper limits on the cross sections between $\sqrt{s}=3.80$ and $5.56~{\rm GeV}$ are determined at the 90% credibility level, which range from few pb to a few tens of pb. We also set upper limits on the decay rate of the vector charmonium [$\psi(4040$), $\psi(4160)$, and $\psi(4415)$] and charmoniumlike [$Y(4260)$, $Y(4360)$, and $Y(4660)$] states to $\gamma\chi_{cJ}$.
Upper limits on the $e^+e^-\to \gamma\chi_{cJ}$ cross sections.
Upper limits on $\Gamma_{ee} \times \mathcal{B}$ at the 90$\%$ C.L.
Upper limits on branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(R \to \gamma \chi_{cJ})$ at the 90$\%$ C.L.
Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider at center-of-mass energies from 3.810 to 4.600 GeV, we perform a study of $e^{+}e^{-} \to \eta J/\psi$ and $\pi^0 J/\psi$. Statistically significant signals of $e^{+}e^{-} \to \eta J/\psi$ are observed at $\sqrt{s}$ = 4.190, 4.210, 4.220, 4.230, 4.245, 4.260, 4.360 and 4.420 GeV, while no signals of $e^{+}e^{-} \to \pi^{0} J/\psi$ are observed. The measured energy-dependent Born cross section for $e^{+}e^{-} \to \eta J/\psi$ shows an enhancement around 4.2~GeV. The measurement is compatible with an earlier measurement by Belle, but with a significantly improved precision.
Results on $e^{+}e^{-}\to\eta J/\psi$ in data samples in which a signal is observed with a statistical significance larger than $5\sigma$. The table shows the CM energy $\sqrt{s}$, integrated luminosity $\mathcal{L}_\mathrm{int}$, number of observed $\eta$ events $N^\mathrm{obs}_{\eta}(\mu^{+}\mu^{-})$/$N^\mathrm{obs}_{\eta}(e^{+}e^{-})$ from the fit, efficiency $\epsilon_{\mu}/\epsilon_{e}$, radiative correction factor $(1+\delta^{r})$, vacuum polarization factor $(1+\delta^{v})$, Born cross section $\sigma^{B}(\mu^{+}\mu^{-})$/$\sigma^{B}(e^{+}e^{-})$ and combined Born cross section $\sigma^{B}_\mathrm{Com}$. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic.
Upper limits of $e^{+}e^{-} \to \eta J/\psi$ using the $\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ mode. The table shows the CM energy $\sqrt{s}$, integrated luminosity $\mathcal{L}_\mathrm{int}$, number of observed $\eta$ events $N^\mathrm{sg}_{\eta}$, number of background from $\eta$ sideband $N^\mathrm{sb}_{\eta}$, and from $J/\psi$ sideband $N^\mathrm{sb}_{J/\psi}$, efficiency $\epsilon$, upper limit of signal number with the consideration of selection efficiency $N^\mathrm{up}_{\eta}/\epsilon$ (at the $90\%$ C.L.), radiative correction factor $(1+\delta^{r})$, vacuum polarization factor $(1+\delta^{v})$, Born cross section $\sigma^{B}$ and upper limit on the Born cross sections $\sigma^{B}_\mathrm{up}$ (at the $90\%$ C.L.). The first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic.
Upper limits of $e^{+}e^{-} \to \pi^{0} J/\psi$. The table shows the number of observed events in the $\pi^{0}$ signal region $N^\mathrm{sg}$, number of events in $\pi^{0}$ sideband $N^\mathrm{sb}_{\pi^{0}}$, and in $J/\psi$ sideband $N^\mathrm{sb}_{J/\psi}$, efficiency $\epsilon$, the upper limit of signal events with the consideration of the selection efficiency $N^\mathrm{up}(\mu^{+}\mu^{-})/\epsilon$ (at the $90\%$ C.L.) and the upper limit of Born cross sections $\sigma^{B}_\mathrm{up}$ (at the $90\%$ C.L.).
The cross section for $e^+ e^- \to \pi^+ \pi^- J/\psi$ between 3.8 GeV and 5.5 GeV is measured with a 967 fb$^{-1}$ data sample collected by the Belle detector at or near the $\Upsilon(nS)$ ($n = 1,\ 2,\ ...,\ 5$) resonances. The Y(4260) state is observed, and its resonance parameters are determined. In addition, an excess of $\pi^+ \pi^- J/\psi$ production around 4 GeV is observed. This feature can be described by a Breit-Wigner parameterization with properties that are consistent with the Y(4008) state that was previously reported by Belle. In a study of $Y(4260) \to \pi^+ \pi^- J/\psi$ decays, a structure is observed in the $M(\pi^\pm\jpsi)$ mass spectrum with $5.2\sigma$ significance, with mass $M=(3894.5\pm 6.6\pm 4.5) {\rm MeV}/c^2$ and width $\Gamma=(63\pm 24\pm 26)$ MeV/$c^{2}$, where the errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. This structure can be interpreted as a new charged charmonium-like state.

The reaction e^+e^- -> e^+e^- proton antiproton is studied with the L3 detector at LEP. The analysis is based on data collected at e^+e^- center-of-mass energies from 183 GeV to 209 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 667 pb^-1. The gamma gamma -> proton antiproton differential cross section is measured in the range of the two-photon center-of-mass energy from 2.1 GeV to 4.5 GeV. The results are compared to the predictions of the three-quark and quark-diquark models.

Results are presented on vector meson production in the hypercharge exchange reactions: π + p → K ∗+ (890) Y + and K − p→ ρ − Y + where Y + is either Σ + or Y ∗+ (1385). These reactions have been studied at 7 GeV/ c and 11.5 GeV/ c using the SLAC Hybrid Facility. Total and differential cross sections, hyperon polarization, and vector meson decay angular distributions are presented. We find that reactions with Σ + production are dominated by natural parity exchange. The Y ∗ (1385) reactions are consistent with substantial natural parity exchange contributions but also show significant unnatural parity exchange. The differential cross sections and polarization measurements for the vector meson production are compared to the pseudoscalar production reactions.

The polarization of the Σ+ has been measured for the line-reversed reactions π+p→K+Σ+ and K−p→π−Σ+ at 7 and 11.6 GeV/c using the SLAC Hybrid Facility. Since the Σ+ decay is observed in the bubble chamber, the trigger of the flash lamps on a fast K+(π−) did not bias the polarization measurements. We find that the Σ+ polarizations from the two reactions have opposite signs but similar magnitudes and are in much better agreement with the predictions of weak exchange degeneracy than previous lower-energy comparisons.

Measurement of the exotic exchange reaction π − p → K + Σ − has been performed at 5 and 8 GeV, in the −0.015 to −0.13 and −0.009 to −0.15 (GeV/ c ) 2 range of t repectively. We give the value near t = 0 of the differential cross section at 5 GeV, 21 −21 +76 nb/(GeV/ c ) 2 , and an upper limit (< 37 nb/GeV/ c ) 2 ) at 8 GeV. As a check the measured differential cross section is given at both energies for the reaction π + p → K + Σ + in the same range of t ★★ ★★ Results presented here were included in the thesis of Doctorat d′Etat by M.N. The differential cross section for neutron-proton elastic scattering was measured in the diffraction region with incident neutron momenta between 5 and 30 GeV/ c . The experiment was an optical-spark-chamber-counter experiment conducted at the Brookhaven National Laboratory alternating gradient synchrotron. A well collimated neutron beam with a broad energy spectrum was incident on a liquid hydrogen target. The scattered neutrons were detected in a thick-plate spark-chamber array while the recoil protons were detected and momentum analyzed in a magnetic spectrometer with thin-foil spark chambers.
