Inspire Record 94946 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.6741

A systematic analysis is presented on the reaction K + p → K ∗0 (890) Δ ++ for nine incident momenta between 4.6–16.0 GeV/ c . Cross sections, differential cross sections and vector meson single density matrix elements are given. As a function of energy, little if any change is observed in either the shapes of the differential cross sections or in the values of the density matrix elements. The data are interpreted in terms of current ideas on t -channel exchange mechanisms.

Deep inelastic scattering with leading protons or large rapidity gaps at HERA

The ZEUS collaboration Chekanov, S. ; Derrick, M. ; Magill, S. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 816 (2009) 1-61, 2009.
Inspire Record 804915 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.52860

The dissociation of virtual photons, $\gamma^{\star} p \to X p$, in events with a large rapidity gap between $X$ and the outgoing proton, as well as in events in which the leading proton was directly measured, has been studied with the ZEUS detector at HERA. The data cover photon virtualities $Q^2>2$ GeV$^2$ and $\gamma^{\star} p$ centre-of-mass energies $40<W<240$ GeV, with $M_X>2$ GeV, where $M_X$ is the mass of the hadronic final state, $X$. Leading protons were detected in the ZEUS leading proton spectrometer. The cross section is presented as a function of $t$, the squared four-momentum transfer at the proton vertex and $\Phi$, the azimuthal angle between the positron scattering plane and the proton scattering plane. It is also shown as a function of $Q^2$ and $\xpom$, the fraction of the proton's momentum carried by the diffractive exchange, as well as $\beta$, the Bjorken variable defined with respect to the diffractive exchange.

Neutron-proton elastic scattering from 5 to 30 gev/c

Gibbard, B.G. ; Longo, M.J. ; Jones, Lawrence W. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 30 (1971) 77-115, 1971.
Inspire Record 68614 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.33298

The differential cross section for neutron-proton elastic scattering was measured in the diffraction region with incident neutron momenta between 5 and 30 GeV/ c . The experiment was an optical-spark-chamber-counter experiment conducted at the Brookhaven National Laboratory alternating gradient synchrotron. A well collimated neutron beam with a broad energy spectrum was incident on a liquid hydrogen target. The scattered neutrons were detected in a thick-plate spark-chamber array while the recoil protons were detected and momentum analyzed in a magnetic spectrometer with thin-foil spark chambers.

Reaction $\pi^- p \to \eta n$ in the 15-{GeV}/$c$ to 40-{GeV}/$c$ Momentum Range

Inspire Record 133409 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.41487

A high-statistics measurement of the reaction π − p→ η n; η →2 γ has been performed at the 70 GeV Serpukhov accelerator for 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40 GeV/ c incident pion momentum using the NICE set-up with its associated 648-channel hodoscope spectrometer for γ-ray detection. It is found that the spin-flip and non-spin-flip amplitudes can be parametrized, for small | t |, as exponentials with the same slopes to within a few percent. For | t | ≳ 1 (GeV/ c ) 2 there is a break in the differential cross section. In addition, the A 2 effective trajectory deviates markedly for | t | ≳ 1 GeV/ c ) 2 from the linear behaviour valid for smaller | t |.

Results of two spark chamber experiments on A 2 − production in the reaction π − p → K − K S 0 (→ π + π − )p at 9.8 and 18.8 GeV are presented. Decay angular distributions and differential cross sections are given, and the energy dependence of the cross section σ [ π − p → A 2 − (→ K − K 0 )p] is compared with results from π − p → A 2 − (→ 3 π )p.

The K ∗− spectrum in the reaction K − +p → K ∗− +p has been measured at beam momenta 10.9, 13.4 and 15.9 GeV/ c using the missing mass technique. Production of the L(1770), and a Q-K ∗ (1420) enhancement are observed. Differential cross sections in the range of momentum transfer 0.12 < | t pp | < 0.40 (GeV/ c ) 2 are given. The L meson is observed with a width Γ = 100 ± 26 MeV. The mass spectrum between the L and 2.5 GeV does not show significant structure.

The reactions K + p → K ∗+ (890) p , K + p → K ∗+ (1420) p and K + p → K 0 Δ ++ have been systematically studied for eleven incident momenta between 3.0 and 16.0 GeV/ c . Cross sections, differential cross sections and density matrix elements are presented. For K ∗ (890) production the contributions from natural and unnatural parity exchanges have also been separated into I = 0 and I = 1 components. Effective trajectories have been extracted in the case of natural parity exchange, and also for Δ ++ production.

We present a systematic analysis of the production of K ∗+ (892) and Δ ++ (1236) resonances in the K + p → K 0 p π + reaction at 5, 8.25 and 16 GeV/ c . We have measured total cross sections, differential cross sections, density matrix elements and examined resonance production mechanisms in terms of the exchange of states with definite naturality. Some results on the reaction K + p → K ∗+ (1420) p are also given.
