The cross sections for the line-reversed reaction pairs K+n→K0p and K−p→K¯0n, and K+p→K0Δ++ and K−n→K¯0Δ− have been determined with high statistics and good relative normalization at 8.36 and 12.8 GeV/c in a spectrometer experiment at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The cross sections for the K+-induced reactions are larger than for the K−, contrary to the expectations of weakly-exchange-degenerate Regge-pole models. The ratio of the reaction cross sections is about the same as at lower energies and shows little change with momentum transfer.

In this letter results are presented on the reactions K − p → K 0 n and K − p → K − p from a high statistics CERN 2-metre hydrogen bubble chamber exposure at 4.15 GeV/ c . The behaviour of the differential cross section as a function of four-momentum transfer shows remarkable similarities between the two reactions studied. From a comparison of our data with K + p elastic scattering at 4.27 GeV/ c we draw some conclusions concerning the magnitude of the contributing amplitudes.

The results on total channel cross-sections obtained in the 2 m HBC exposed to a separated K− beam at the CERN PS are presented here. The total cross-sections for each channel are given at seven incident K− momenta between 1.934 and 2.516 GeV/c.
CORRECTED FOR ALL POSSIBLE V DECAY MODES. STATISTICAL ERRORS ONLY.
New data on the K−p elastic and charge exchange reactions are presented in the K− momentum range between 1.934 GeV/c and 2.516 GeV/c. A conventional energy-dependent partial-wave analysis covering the widerPK- range from 1.6 GeV/c to 2.516 GeV/c is presented together with a p.w.a. in which the duality ands-helicity conservation ideas are explicitly imposed in the fits. Finally the new Y*’s observed in this experiment are classified inSU3 multiplets.

We present results on three reactions involving neutral final states which were studied in a magnet spark chamber system. These results are: (a) differential cross section with high statistics for K − p → K 0 n at 5 GeV /c (24 000 events) and at 8 GeV/ c (11 000 events) for t′ <2.0 (GeV/ c ) 2 ; (b) differential cross section and polarization for K − p → Λπ 0 (backward peak) at 5 GeV/ c for u ′ < 1.4 GeV/ c ) 2 ; and (c) differential cross section for K − p → K 0 Δ 0 (1232) at 5 GeV /c for t′ < 1.2 ( GeV /c) 2 . We compare our results with existing data and draw some phenomenological conclusions.

Differential cross sections for the line-reversed reaction pairs K + 0p → K o Δ ++ (1236), K − n → K ̄ o Δ − (1236) and K − p → K ̄ o n , K + n → K o p have been measured with good statistics at 4 and 6 GeV/ c . The line reversal breaking for the Δ (1236) reactions is found to have no significant variation with energy and to be larger than for the charge exchange reactions. The cross sections for all four reactions show a dip in the forward direction, indicating the importance of spin-flip amplitudes.

The angular distributions of the reactions K - p → K - p and K - p → K K 0 n have been measured at 23 incident K - momenta between 1.136 and 1.798 ifGeV/c using the bubble chamber technique. These data, together with other published data on the same reactions, including K - p polarisations, K̄N total cross sections, and measurements of Re ƒ(0)/ Im ƒ(0) , have been analysed in terms of partial-wave amplitudes. Resonance behaviour is confirmed for the P 03 partial wave at 1890 MeV. The resonance parameters of the F 15 (1915), F 17 (2030) and G 07 (2100) have been redetermined. No evidence has been found for new resonances coupling significantly to K K N in the energy region explored.

Differential cross sections for K−p→K¯0n and K+n→K0p have been measured at 3, 4, and 6 GeV/c using a data sample of 6000 events. Contrary to simple exchange-degenerate models, the ratio of K+ to K− cross sections was found to be approximately 1.35, with little dependence on either s or t. Both reactions show a shallow dip near the forward direction, suggesting the importance of spin-flip amplitudes.

LARGE -T CONTRIBUTIONS (TYPICALLY 12 PCT) ESTIMATED FROM BUBBLE-CHAMBER DATA.
We have studied the reactions K+p→K0Δ++(1236) at 15.7 GeVc, K−p→K¯0n at 10.7 and 15.7 GeVc, and K−p→K¯0Δ0(1236) at 15.7 GeVc in the BNL Double Vee Magnetic Spectrometer. The π+ and π− from the decays of forward K0's were detected and the above reactions were identified by a missing-mass technique. Total and differential cross sections are presented for the first two reactions and a total cross section for the third.

The K − p → K 0 n polarization has been measured at 8 GeV/ c and for − t values ranging from 0 up tp 1.2 (GeV/ c ) 2 . A negative polarization has been found.
